Competitor analysis template google sheets

Create a new Google Sheet and set up these sheets: Overview, Competitors, Features, Pricing, Traffic/SEO, SWOT.

Competitors sheet (columns):

  • A: Competitor name, B: URL, C: Founded/size, D-H: numeric ratings (Product, Pricing, UX, Marketing, Support) 1–10, I: Strengths, J: Weaknesses, K: Notes, L: Overall score.

Scoring:

  • Put weight values in D1:H1 (e.g., Product 30, Pricing 20, UX 20, Marketing 15, Support 15).
  • In L2 use: =SUMPRODUCT(D2:H2,$D$1:$H$1)/SUM($D$1:$H$1) and copy down.

Visuals & formatting:

  • Conditional formatting on column L: Color scale (red→green).
  • Create a bar chart of A2:A10 vs L2:L10 for quick ranking.
  • Use Filter view to compare segments (e.g., by region or business model).

Data collection and maintenance:

  • Use IMPORTXML for rough traffic/SEO metrics or paste manually; date-stamp updates in a separate “Update log” sheet.
  • Add a “Top gaps” column in Overview that lists 3 actionable moves (product, price, channel).

Do you want a ready-made copy I can format for you, and how many competitors will you track?
